We hope that part of you Independence Day celebration includes our Freedom Run 10K, 5K or the Mayor’s one mile Fun Run. The annual run has become an integral part of America’s Freedom Festival as thousands of participants at all levels and abilities join this invigorating event.
We encourage you to get decked out in patriotic garb for the run. We are working on some great additions for the race this year. One of them is a cool running shirt. Not only is is made of advanced fabrics, it also has a built in hidden pocket for your ID, keys, or ipod device. The back of the pocket has a button hole to allow your headphone cords to snake out of the back of the pocket under your shirt up to your ears. The finisher’s medal is pretty neat as well. It has a built in spinner! We aim to be the best running event in Utah. Since the federal holiday and Grand Parade will be on July 5th, we will be running on the morning of the July 5th. The Traverse Mtn. 9 miler starts on the Highland/ Alpine border and crosses over Traverse Mountain, down into the scenic Corner Canyon area of Draper City. The course begins on a wide dirt road, in a narrow canyon that climbs to the summit of Traverse Ridge. At the summit there are views of Salt Lake and Utah Counties. It is beautiful! From the summit, the trail takes you down Corner Canyon via Ghost Falls Trail. Ghost Falls Trail descends Corner Canyon through a wooded area of switchbacks on a single track trail. On this stretch of trail, the scenery is breathtaking and actually passes a flowing waterfall. Near the bottom, the trail opens up and begins to climb back towards the summit. Clark's trail ascends the grade in a shaded grove of trees that makes you feel like you are on the east coast rather than the deserts of Utah. At the summit you return to the race start point on a very fast 2.5 mile decline.

Help us build an orphanage in Honduras by joining us for the Great Lakes of Utah relay race. The race will go from Lake Point Utah to Saratoga Springs Utah by way of Middle/Butterfield canyon. Awards will be presented at 6:30 PM at the Saratoga Springs HOA Pavilion. Each team will consist of anywhere from 1 to 10 members who will each take turns running various lengths in order to complete the 50.7 mile journey.

Well let us introduce you to the new race in town…THE DIRTY DASH. This race puts all other races to shame. The Dirty Dash is where a military boot camp meets your inner five-year-old’s fantasy and subsequently converts boy to man and then…man to swine.
You’ll need endurance to trudge up mountains of sludge, courage to overcome uncompromising obstacles, a complete lack of shame to wallow in pits of mud and a smile to show through at the end!
So let this 10K obstacle course become your new guilty pleasure. Go solo or with 4 of your dirtiest, filthiest, & uncouth friends. On either accord…you will be able to look at yourself in the mirror and say “I am a Dirty Dasher!”… and then proceed to clean yourself off.

Carb Load LUNCH: All registered runners will have the option to participate in a delicious carb-load lunch at LeNonne Restaurant from 12:00-2:00 PM on race day for just $7 BUCKS!
Parking - an update will be made to the race map indicating where racers will be allowed to park on race day. Please, refer to the course map within 5 days of the race.
Exchange - the runner exchange will take place at 1st dam. Racers will be responsible for transportation to and from the exchange. Please plan accordingly.
Packet Pick-up - Packet pick-up will take place on the USU campus in the business building from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, the 27th. Day of packet pick-up will only be for 30 minutes from 4:30-5:00.
Registration:If you choose to sign up as a team, only one participant's information will be required. We will email you for shirt sizes.
Everyone, make sure that you FINALIZE your race entry form by submitting your payment. If you didn't have to submit a payment then you ARE NOT registered for the race.
